Jeffs Defeat Clark, Brandeis in Hall of Fame Tournament

AMHERST, MA - The Amherst College Volleyball team defeated Clark University 3-0 (30-23, 30-19, 30-18) and Brandeis University 3-1 (30-24, 27-30, 30-23, 30-21) in the first day of the Hall of Fame Tournament, hosted by Smith College on Friday. Junior setter Annie Hoeksma (Los Angeles, CA) led the Jeffs with a combined 15 kills, 86 assists and 16 digs.

First-year Kristin Quinn (Los Angeles, CA) led the Amherst offense with a combined 28 kills while junior Nicole Davidson (Los Angeles, CA) added 22 and senior co-captain Lauren Wong (San Francisco, CA) chipped in 15. Sophomore Kate Raddock (Stamford, CT) led the Jeffs defense with a whopping 40 digs, 31 against Brandeis, while Davidson contributed 25 digs, Quinn collected six blocks and senior co-captain Jess Allen (Chagrin Falls, OH) added 27 digs.

Amherst advances to the championship bracket by winning Pool D, extending its winning streak to 10 matches, and will face the winner of Pool A at Smith College Saturday at 11 a.m. The Jeffs will then play, again at Smith College, in either the championship or third-place match at 3 p.m.
