SPRINGFIELD, MA - Senior midfielder Mary Kate Allen (Springfield, MA) notched a game-high four goals, while senior Brooke Diamond (Longmeadow, MA) and sophomore Olivia D'Ambrosio (Farmington, CT) combined to finish with six saves as the third-ranked Amherst College women's lacrosse team downed non-league foe Springfield College, 20-9, Tuesday at Benedum Field. 

The Jeffs jumped out to a 4-1 lead before the Pride rallied to cut the deficit to 5-4 with 14:32 remaining in the opening half. The visitors tallied five unanswered goals, extending the lead to 10-5 at the break. 

Senior attackers Abby Ouimet (Hatfield, MA), Erin Beaumont (Summit, NJ) and junior midfielders Allison Aldrich (Cornwall, VT) and Jackie Sargent (Concord, MA) each added three goals for the Jeffs. With the victory, Amherst improves to 9-1 overall, while Springfield drops to 6-5. 

The Jeffs return to action Saturday at 2 p.m. against visiting NESCAC foe Bowdoin College.
