Jeffs Move to 5-0 With 3-0 Shutout Over Conn. College

AMHERST, MA –The Amherst volleyball squad beat Conn. College Friday evening to move to a 5-0 start for the season. The Jeffs won easily in three straight games led by more dominating front-line play by senior co-captain Kristin Quinn and junior sensation Jaclyn DeMais.

The Conn. College Camels came out firing in the first game, taking an early lead 10-4, but the jeffs refused to give up a single game, rallying back to win 30-26, 30-24, and 30-20. Led by more great front line play from their middle and outside-hitters, the Jeffs seem to be on a role. Kristin Quinn led the team on the evening with 14 kills and 4 blocks, while DeMais chipped in with 9 huge kills.

Providing great support on the defensive end was the first-year and senior combo of Bethany Belisle '10 and co-captain Laura Golden '07, combining for 24 digs in the match. Sophomore setter Sara Heller dished out 30 assists on the evening to lead the Jeffs.

Amherst returns to action Saturday at Noon against visiting NESCAC & Little Three rival Wesleyan University.
