MIDDLETOWN, CT - The 9th-ranked Amherst College women's soccer team kept its 10-game unbeaten streak alive this afternoon with a 4-1 win at NESCAC and Little Three archrival Wesleyan University. The Lord Jeffs improve to 8-1-2 (6-0-1 NESCAC) with the win, and also have a six-game winning streak alive.

Amherst got a pair of goals from sophomore Kyla Woodhouse (Topsham, ME), upping her season total to seven, and junior Meg Murphy (Springfield, MA) added her team-leading 10th goal of the season to close out the scoring in the 54th minute as the Lord Jeffs pushed their undefeated streak against Wesleyan to 15 games (14-0-1) since 1993. 

Amherst enjoyed a 24-11 edge in total shots in the contest. Murphy also had two assists in the game, bringing her seasonal point total to 23. Wesleyan avoided a shutout when senior Sam Blank scored two minutes into the second half, cutting the margin to 3-1 at the time. Both teams split goaltending duties with different players handling each half.

Woodhouse's first goal came in just the fourth minute, with first-year Livia Rizzo (Dover, MA) building on the lead in the 20th minute. Woodhouse's second tally came with 14 minutes remaining in the first half and gave the Jeffs a comfortable 3-0 advantage heading into intermission.

First-year Allie Horwitz (Woodbridge, CT) made one save in the first half before being relieved for junior Lili Ferguson (Winnetka, IL), who stopped three shots in the second frame.
