AMHERST, Mass. -- Panthers defenseman Alexis Ryan scored the lone goal of the game to lift top-ranked Middlebury College to a 1-0 win over the Amherst College women's ice hockey team in NESCAC action on Saturday afternoon at Orr Rink.
The Panthers (7-0, 4-0 NESCAC) complete a weekend sweep of the defending NESCAC champion Mammoths (2-4, 0-4 NESCAC) in a rematch of the last NESCAC championship game.
Amherst is back in action on Saturday, Dec. 11, with a visit to Nazareth for a non-conference contest at 3 p.m.

- The lone goal came late in the first period when Ryan netted her first goal of the season at the 18:23 mark.

- Panthers netminder Sophia Merageas stopped all 33 shots she faced for her second shutout of the season.
