AMHERST, Mass. -- First-year
Tor Metelmann set a pool record in the 100 IM while senior
Scott Romeyn participated in four victories as the Amherst College men's swimming & diving team collected a 158.95-129.5 victory over Connecticut College in Pratt Pool.
The Mammoths improved to 5-1 on the season and will take on #6-ranked M.I.T. on January 29th in Cambridge.Â
MEET HIGHLIGHTS
* Metelmann raced to victory in the 100 IM in 53.07 seconds, breaking the record of Mammoth Tristian So set in 2020 by one-hundreths of a second.Â
* Romeyn won the 50 free (20.61 seconds) and the 100 free (45.62) on Senior Day, also participating on the victorious 200 medley relay with
Kevin Ma,
Gary Sun and
Kenneth Woodsum. The quartet's winning time was 1:32.89. Romeyn swam with the 200 free relay team as well, along with
Will Taylor, Ma and
Christian Moy. That foursome won the event in 1:24.11.

Gabriele Lunardi won the 500 free with a time of 4:39.31 and also the 200 fly in 1:53.93. Woodsum won the 100 fly in 51.65 seconds,
Andrew Yuen won the 100 back in 51.97 seconds, Metelmann the 200 breaststroke in 2:07.72 and
Liam Loveless took the top spot in the 100 breaststroke in 58.81 seconds..Â

Will Taylor placing second in the 1650 (16:34.59),
Justin Papagelis placing second in the 200 free (1:44.46),
Nolan Scanlan placing second in the 200 back (1:56.83) and third in the 100 back (53.05),
Malcolm Scannell placing second in the 100 breaststroke (58.82) and third in the 200 breaststroke (2:10.05).
Gary Sun finished second in the 100 IM in 53.64 seconds and
Peter Baird was third in the 500 free with a time of 4:39.31.Â
