AMHERST, Mass. – Senior
Caroline Tilton recorded 13 kills in her final regular-season game at LeFrak Gymnasium to lead the Amherst College volleyball team to a sweep of Emerson College in a non-conference clash between regionally-ranked squads on Saturday afternoon.
The Mammoths captured a 25-14, 25-14, 25-22 victory to improve to 11-6 on the season, while the Lions fell to 15-4. Before the match, the Mammoths honored seniors

The Mammoths are back in action on Friday (Oct. 28), visiting Bates for a 7 p.m. NESCAC contest.
MATCH HIGHLIGHTS:
* The Mammoths never trailed in the first set, opening strong with an 8-1 lead after winning six straight points on sophomore
Lizzie Papalia's serve. An 8-2 run later in the set gave Amherst a 17-7 lead and the Mammoths went on to a 25-14 victory in the opening set.
* The second set played out similarly and resulted in another 25-14 Amherst win. The Mammoths jumped to a 6-1 lead and a run of five straight points on Underwood's serve put the Mammoths up, 15-7. Another burst of five straight points on Papalia's serve included two of Tilton's six kills in the set and had the Mammoths at set point up 24-12. After the Lions scored a pair of points, Amherst won the set on a service error.
* The Lions responded in the third set and won the first three points to take an early lead and soon went up by a 6-2 score. Emerson held a slim lead for most of the set until first-year
Charlotte Rasmussen and sophomore
Kinsey Cronin combined for a block to tie the score at 19-19. The Lions took the next two points but the Mammoths answered with three straight to take a 22-21 lead before Emerson got a kill to tie the set at 22-22. Kills from Rasmussen and sophomore
Anaya Thomas brought the Mammoths to set point and an Emerson attack error gave Amherst the victory.
BY THE NUMBERS:
* The Mammoths hit .353 in the match, their second straight match hitting above .350. Rasmussen hit .467, Cronin checked in at .417 and Tilton posted a .346 hitting percentage.
* Papalia tallied a match-high 20 digs and 2 service aces.
* Cronin was involved in a match-high four blocks.
* Junior
Carly Cooper led the Mammoths with 17 assists.
* Sophomore Parker Cummings led the Lions with 12 kills and senior Caroline Bond recorded 24 assists.
