CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Senior captain
Will Taylor was the lone winner Saturday as the Amherst College men's swimming and diving team ell to fourth-ranked M.I.T., 202.5 to 74.5 in the Zesiger Center Pool on the Cambridge campus.
The Mammoths fell to 4-2 on the season. They are back at it tomorrow when they travel to Springfield College for a dual meet scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS:
* Taylor took the top spot in the men's 1000-yard free race, topping the field with a time of 9:42.00.
* The Mammoths' 400-yard free medley relay team of
Ethan Van De Water,
Justin Papagelis,
Tyler Knightly and Taylor finished second in a time of 3:10.64.
* Van De Water placed second in the 50 free with a time of 21.90 seconds, just ahead of Papagelis, who was third in 21.95 seconds.

Henry Liu raced to a second-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:05.16, a second ahead of Amherst teammate
Tor Metelmann, who was third in 2:06.32 seconds. Metelmann also placed third in the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:56.26.

Jeff Gerber had two third-place finishes in the meet. He managed that placement in the 100 butterfly with a time of 52.71 seconds and also managed a third-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 58.68 seconds. Teammate Fyn Nadel was finished ahead of him in second place with a time of 58.60 seconds.

Andrew Bernstein placed third in the 200-yard free with a time of 1:48.26, while
Jonah Luetke was third in the 200-yad backstroke with a time of 1:54.47.
* Knightly was third in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:43.87.
* In the 200-yard butterfly,
Henry LeCates placed third with a time of 1:56.27 and
Chase Adams was close by, placing fourth in 1:59.46.
