AMHERST, Mass. – Senior
Gabriele Lunardi set a new pool record in the 1000-yard freestyle as the Amherst College men's swimming and diving team fell to archrival Williams College, 172-126, on Saturday afternoon in Pratt Pool.
Prior to the meet, the Mammoths honored the Class of 2025 before they competed in Pratt Pool for the final time.
The Ephs, ranked 14th in the nation in the latest CSCAA Division III poll, remained undefeated in dual meets this season at 6-0, while the Mammoths saw their dual-meet win streak snapped at five dating back to last season and fell to 4-1 this season.
Amherst returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 25, visiting NESCAC rival Connecticut College at 1 p.m.

Ethan Van De Water edged out the Ephs, touching the wall in 1:32.25.
* In his final competition in Pratt Pool, Lunardi broke the pool record in the 1000-yard freestyle with a season-best time of 9:28.86. Lunardi bested the mark of 9:33.10 set by Ryan Lichtenfels '12 that had stood since 2010 and was the oldest pool record on the board. Lunardi also won the 500-yard freestyle to sweep the distance events, clocking in at 4:37.88.
* Sophomore
Henry Liu swept the breaststroke events, taking the 100-yard breaststroke in 56.96 seconds and following up with a win in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:06.01. Junior
Tor Metelmann finished as runner-up in both events to deliver Amherst the top two spots in each race.
* Olson claimed victory in the 100-yard butterfly with a season-best time of 49.07 seconds.
