NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Amherst College Women's swim and dive team defeated both the US Coast Guard Academy (262-99) and Connecticut College (251-106) in a two-day meet this weekend. The Mammoths dominated in all events, earning 15 first-place finishes and winning both dive events.
This weekend's meet concludes action for the Mammoths in this calendar year. The Mammoths will return to the pool on Friday, January 2nd, as they head to Babson College for a dual meet.

The Mammoths had dominant swims in all relays this weekend, finishing in first place in the 400 Medley Relay, 200 Freestyle Relay, 200 Medley Relay, and 400 Freestyle Relay.

First-year Penny Lazar finished first in the 1650 Freestyle, finishing in a time of 17:16.85, nearly 30 seconds ahead of the second-place swimmer. Lazar also finished first in the 500 Free, with a time of 5:10.01.

The Mammoths showed their dominance in the breaststroke events this weekend, with Joline Fong, Ava Liu, and Kaya Tray taking first, second, and third, respectively, in the 100 Breaststroke. Fong also placed first in the 200 Breaststroke.

Ava Insteness earned a first-place swim in the 200-yard IM (2:08.79), followed closely by Hope Taylor (2:10.92). Insteness also finished first in the 200 Freestyle.

Mammoths went 1-2 in the 100-yard fly, with Paige Arnold swimming a 56.22 and Maeve Kelley finishing in 56.78.

In the 1-meter diving, Brooke Ronan placed first, followed by Donna Zhang and Zoluntu Radebe. Zhang took first in the 3-meter.
