MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Five All-NESCAC finishes and five school records highlighted action for the Amherst College men's swimming and diving team on the third day of the 2025 NESCAC Championships at Middlebury College as the Mammoths remained in third place after Saturday's events.
The Mammoths, ranked 18th in the nation in the latest CSCAA Division III poll, remained in third place with 922.5 points through 18 of 24 events. Five-time defending champion Williams leads with 1371.5 points.
The NESCAC Championships conclude on Sunday (Feb. 23) at Middlebury with morning preliminaries beginning at 10 a.m. at the final session at 5:30 p.m.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS:
* The Mammoths opened the meet with a school record, All-NESCAC performance and NCAA B-cut in the 200-yard medley relay. Senior

Ethan Van De Water touched in 1:28.69 to finish third and break the previous Amherst record of 1:29.50 that Olson and Van De Water set last year with
Jeff Gerber '24 and current senior
Emmanuel Odim. The time ranks among the top 20 in Division III so far this season and earns the first career All-NESCAC nods for Yuen, Nadel and Van De Water. Yuen swam the opening backstroke leg in 22.88, setting a new school record in the 50-yard backstroke after tying the previous mark of 22.99 earlier in the meet.
* Olson followed with a runner-up finish in the 100-yard butterfly after breaking the school record in the event in the morning preliminaries. Olson's prelim time of 47.73 seconds topped the previous Amherst best of 48.09 set by Sam Stewart '16 and ranks among the top 10 in Division III this season. Olson touched in 47.92 seconds in the final to place second and earn his third All-NESCAC finish of the championships. First-year
Cameron Aryanpour was the top rookie in the event, posting a personal-best time of 49.25 seconds in the consolation final to place 10th.

Jack Goepfrich broke the Amherst school record with a runner-up finish in the 200-yard freestyle, his first career All-NESCAC honor. Goepfrich touched in 1:37.26 to break the previous mark of 1:37.37 held by Connor Sholtis '15 and post an NCAA B-cut with a time that ranks among the top five in Division III this season.
* Nadel added another school record as the Mammoths picked up a pair of All-NESCAC finishes in the 100-yard breaststroke. Nadel bested the previous Amherst record of 54.75 seconds, set last year by Gerber, with a time of 54.63 in the morning prelims then bettered that mark to 54.46 to finish second in the finals and earn a second All-NESCAC award on the evening. Sophomore Eric Albers placed third with a time of 54.62 with both Nadel and Albers notching NCAA B-cut times.
