#9 Amherst Tops #24 Wesleyan on the Road to Win Little Three Rivalry, 6-1

MIDDLETOWN, CT - The #9 Amherst College men's tennis team earned a hard-fought 6-3 win over #24 Wesleyan University on Sunday afternoon at the Bacon Field House, clinching the 2025 Little Three title after also defeating Williams earlier this season. Originally scheduled to be played outdoors, the match was moved inside due to inclement weather.

Up Next:
With the win, Amherst improves to 10-3 on the season and 4-1 in NESCAC play. The Mammoths will return home for a non-conference match against Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on Friday at 3:30 PM, followed by a NESCAC matchup versus the #38 Bates College Bobcats on Saturday, April 5 at 10:30 AM on Amherst's outdoor courts (weather permitting).

HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Sophomore Andreas Sillaste overcame JT Bilski at the #1 singles spot in a three-hour three-set marathon.
  • Senior Sujit Chepuri clinched the match—and the Little Three title—on his birthday with a third-set comeback at #5.
  • George Chaidemenos remained perfect on the season at 8-0 with a straight-set win at #6.
