GLOUCESTER, Mass. — A total of 13 student-athletes from the Amherst College men's ice hockey team were honored as All-American Scholars for the 2024-25 season by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA).
To qualify, a student-athlete must have attained a 3.75 GPA for each semester and had to appear in 40 percent of the team's games.
The Mammoths named All-American Scholars are:
• Junior defenseman
Andrew Carmody, a mathematics and political science double major from North Haven, Connecticut. Carmody played in 24 games, tallying 6 goals and 6 assists.
• First-year defenseman
Ben Cook from Concord. Cook appeared in 19 games, scoring his first collegiate goal against Middlebury on Dec. 6 and adding 6 assists in his rookie season.
• Junior forward
Ryan Corcoran, a political science and psychology double major from Duxbury. Corcoran played in 22 games with a goal in the season opener against Hamilton and 4 assists on the season.
• Senior forward
Ben Kuzma, an economics and psychology double major from Sewickley, Pennsylvania. A team captain, Kuzma tied for the team lead with 10 goals and added 8 assists in 23 games.
• Senior goaltender
Connor Leslie, a political science and psychology double major from Leesburg, Virginia. Leslie posted a 3.01 goals against average and .893 save percentage in 13 games, including a shutout against Babson on Dec. 1.
• Senior forward
Bobby Luca, a psychology major from Milton. A team captain, Luca earned All-NESCAC honors with 10 goals and 7 assists in 25 games.
• Junior forward
Zachary Murray, a neuroscience major from Alexandria, Virginia. Murray played in all 25 games, scoring 9 goals and adding 8 assists.
• Sophomore forward
Jacob Pohl, a classical civilizations major from Chicago. Pohl played in all 25 games, notching 3 goals and 7 assists, and was a Billings Prize recipient, awarded for "general excellence in the Latin courses of the sophomore year together with the best essays on special topics connected with the authors read in that year".
• Junior defenseman
Ben Ritter, a computer science and economics double major from Pittsford, New York. Ritter appeared in 24 games, scoring a goal against Keene State on Jan. 5 and adding 4 assists.
• First-year defenseman
Ben Snyderman from Glencoe, Illinois. Snyderman played in 13 games, scoring his first collegiate goal against Keene State on Jan. 5 and tallying two assists at St. Michael's on Nov. 26.
• Senior forward
Matt Toporowski, an economics and psychology double major from Kirkland, Quebec. Toporowski notched 6 goals and 6 assists in 23 games.
• Sophomore forward
Matt Vander Vort, a political science major from Edina, Minnesota. Vander Vort played in 24 games, tallying 3 goals and 2 assists.
• Sophomore forward
Vincent Velocci, an economics major from King City, Ontario. Velocci netted 3 goals and 6 assists in 18 games.
