Futures Program

The Futures Program builds from the foundational skills and knowledge that student-athletes gain as participants in the FYI Program. Throughout the two-year Futures Program, student-athletes participate in a number of workshops to practice the ‘nuts and bolts’ of leadership. Such leadership topics include giving and receiving feedback, values-based leadership, goal setting, and accountability. Student-athletes often work in small groups alongside their teammates during Futures workshops, providing them with the opportunity to practice tangible leadership skills and recognize how these skills contribute to team development.

Through participation in the Futures Program, student-athletes have the opportunity to partake in 'Elective Night' events, which occur once per semester. On these special nights, students may choose from a selection of smaller workshops or lectures to attend based on their own personal interests. Elective Night topics range anywhere from participating in a resume and interview skills workshop, learning skills for mental toughness from a sports psychologist, or acquring practical career advice from a successful entrepreneur.

If you would like to apply to be a part of the Futures Program, please fill out this application.
