Lianne McCluskey

Lianne McCluskey was named an assistant swimming and diving coach in June of 2024.

McCluskey joined the Amherst staff after her role as assistant swim coach at Dartmouth College from 2021-2023. While at Dartmouth, she assisted the coaching staff by coordinating travel logistics, collaborating on recruiting efforts, helping with season training plans, and running the social media accounts. During the 2020-21 season she was the assistant swim coach and aquatics director at Brandeis University; the season was untraditional due to the COVID-19 pandemic but she was able to still coach student-athletes while managing the aquatics facility.

Before that, McCluskey was a graduate assistant at Smith College (2018-20), where she planned, organized, and helped run practices and meets, recruited, and coordinated travel plans. During the summer of 2019, she was a swim coach and camp counselor at the University of Texas Longhorn Swim Camp and also completed the core curriculum of the NCAA Women Coaches Academy through WeCOACH. She continues to enjoy working at swim camps, most notably working at Bobcat Swim Camp since 2022.

McCluskey was a Division III All-American and national champion at Denison University before transferring to La Salle University, graduating in 2014 with a degree in communication and journalism. She went on to get her master’s in exercise and sports studies from Smith in May of 2020. She has also been an American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor since 2021 and a personal trainer certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine since 2024.
