AMHERST, MA - The 10th ranked Amherst College field hockey team improved to 5-1 on the season with a 4-2 non-conference win at Mt. Holyoke College on Thursday. Senior forward Marcy Busch (Scarsdale, NY) paced the Jeffs with an assist and two goals - including what turned out to be the game-winner off a feed from fellow senior tri-captain Mairin Brady (Bethesda, MD) with 25:20 remaining in the second half.
Junior forward Abby Ouimet (Hatfield, MA) also connected twice for Amherst, increasing her team-leading total to seven goals on the season.
Amherst returns to action Saturday at 11 a.m. against visiting NESCAC rival Bowdoin College.
