In a tightly contested game, Kennedy broke the scoreless tie just before the halftime break as she found the back of the cage unassisted at the 32:48 mark to give Bowdoin a 1-0 lead. Amherst, which was outshot 8-3 in the first half, held a 4-3 edge in shots in the second stanza highlighted by Fiore's first collegiate score which came late in the game in the 66th minute.

All seven of the Jeffs' shots in the game were on target led by Madeline Tank '15 who drilled four shots on frame, but Bears' goalkeeper Hannah Gartner was equal to the task making six saves to keep the score at 2-1.
