SALEM, Va. – The Amherst College men's soccer team is set to face Washington & Lee University in the semifinals of the NCAA Division III Championship on Friday (Dec. 1) at 6:30 p.m. at Kerr Stadium on the campus of Roanoke College. The Mammoths have reached the national semifinals for the third time in the last four seasons as they seek to claim the program's first national title since 2015.
Fans on campus can join fellow Mammoths for a watch party in the Lipton Lecture Hall in the Science Center.
The Mammoths enter the semifinal tilt on an eight-game winning streak and 12-game unbeaten run, winning the NESCAC Championship and storming through the first four rounds of the NCAA Tournament, topping NESCAC rival Middlebury, 1-0, in the quarterfinals to advance to Salem thanks to a goal from junior defender

The Mammoths have been led this season by senior forward
Ada Okorogheye, who was named NESCAC Player of the Year and repeated as an All-American selection after scoring six goals and adding five assists this season. Okorogheye was joined on the All-Region and All-NESCAC teams by Clark-Eden, junior midfielder
Ignacio Cubeddu and first-year forward
Mohammed Nuhu, who also earned NESCAC Rookie of the Year honors.
Amherst will face a Washington & Lee team that advanced to the semifinals for the second time in the last three seasons after defeating Colorado College in penalty kicks in the quarterfinals. The Generals boast an All-American in junior midfielder Weyimi Agbeyegbe, the ODAC Offensive Player of the Year, who has tallied 13 goals and 6 assists this season. He was joined on the All-Region team by junior defender P.J. Ryan, sophomore goalkeeper Will Joseph and senior midfielder Grant McCarty.
The winner of the match between the Mammoths and the Generals will face the winner of St. Olaf and Washington College, two semifinal debutants who are playing in the other match at 3 p.m. The MIAC champion Oles enter the semifinals on a 20-game unbeaten run after dethroning defending national champion UChicago in the quarterfinals, while the Shoremen used a 1-0 win over 2021 national champion Connecticut College to advance to Salem.
