#15 Amherst sweep #26 Conn in midweek home season opener, 9-0

AMHERST, MA — On Wednesday afternoon, the #15 Amherst College women's squash team began their 2024-25 season. At home on the Davenport Squash Courts, Amherst eased past the #26 Connecticut College Camels with a score of 9-0.

The Mammoths enjoyed a successful season last year. They ended with a 14-9 record (5-7 at home, 6-1
in away games, and 3-1 on neutral courts), and as Little Three Champs. However, they are training hard to do even better this season with four first-year additions to the team.

Up next: Amherst now hold a 1-0 record (1-0 versus NESCAC oppositions). The Mammoths will next head play in the New York Round Robin Tournament, playing two away matches versus the #27 Hamilton College Continentals and the #29 William Smith College Herons. Up first will be the Continentals on Saturday, who also hold a 1-0 season record. Amherst will play Hamilton on Saturday at 10am at the Little Squash Center in Clinton, NY.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS:

Amherst went 27-0 in sets.
All four first-years, Kristen Daniel, Brigid Brandon, Ella MIller, and Clara Dawn, earned their first wins in an Amherst jersey at the #3, #4, #5, and #8 spots, respectively
Junior Morgan Chaudhary dropped just two points in her win lasting 13 minutes at the #7 spot
