#13 Franklin and Marshall give #17 Amherst first setback of 2025, beating the Mammoths 8-1

LANCASTER, PA — The #17 Amherst College men's squash team suffered its first defeat of the calendar year versus the #13 Franklin and Marshall College Diplomats on Saturday afternoon. The Diplomats beat the Mammoths with a score of 8-1 on the Mayser Squash Courts, halting their momentum after back-to-back wins on Wednesday and Friday.

Up next: Amherst experienced their third loss of the season today, and the Mammoths' season record now stands at 6-3 (3-0 versus NESCAC teams). On Monday morning, Amherst will play their third and final away match of the Mid-Atlantic Round Robin. The Mammoths will face the #28 Dickinson College Red Devils at the Kline Fitness Center in Carlisle, PA at 11am ET. The Red Devils currently hold a 3-10 record for their season thus far.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS:

First-year Graeme Herbert earned his second win in two days at the #8 spot in straight sets. He remains unbeaten with a 2-0 season record.
First-year Fares Khairy won the first set over Aditya Chandani at the #5 spot. However, Chandani improved his game to win the next three.
Senior Walter Huffman also won a set versus his opponent but fell short in four sets versus Evann Tan at the #9 spot.
