BLOOMFIELD, Conn. – The Amherst College men's golf team claimed victory at the Bantams/Hawks Invitational, hosted by Trinity College and the University of Hartford at Tumble Brook Country Club. The Mammoths posted consistent rounds of 296 on both days, finishing with a total score of 592 (+16), eight strokes ahead of the second-place hosts, Trinity College.
Junior
Paari Kaviyarasu led the team with impressive rounds of 69 and 74, totaling 143 (-1) for the tournament. His performance earned him second place in the tournament.
Finishing just behind was first-year
Andre Zhang, who posted matching rounds of 1-over-par 73 to finish at 2-over 146, securing a fifth-place finish.
Tied for tenth place, first-year
Jan Ebbinge opened with a 4-over-par 76 and improved to a 2-over-par 74 to total 150 strokes.
Finally, senior
Steven Chen finished with a score of 153 (+9), followed by junior
John Beskid, who finished with 158 (+14).
The Mammoths will return to competition this Saturday (Apr. 12) for the Tim Brown Invitational in Ballston Spa, New York, at the Ballston Spa Country Club.
