5/7/2026 2:50:00 PM

HADLEY, MA – Sophomore Tina She (Stouffville, Ontario) of Amherst women's tennis and junior Andreas Sillaste (Oulu, Finland) of Amherst men's tennis were selected to compete in this year's NCAA Singles Championship, it was announced by the NCAA on Wednesday night.

She was announced as this year's NESCAC Player of the Year and earned First Team Singles honors earlier this week after a stellar second season in the Pioneer Valley. She is currently ranked the No. 5 singles player in the country, holding a record of 21-4 (84 percent) while consistently playing every opponent's top player. That mark includes going 4-2 against players ranked in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) top 20, a mark she will look to better in NCAA play.

Sillaste earns his second NCAA Singles berth after notching his third straight All-NESCAC First Team Singles honors with a 22-8 singles record this year. The junior's selections are his third straight to the All-NESCAC First Team; he adds these to a growing list of accolades that also includes both the 2023-24 NESCAC and ITA Rookie of the Year awards. He also earned a selection to the NCAA Tournament Singles draw, making a Quarterfinal appearance.

Senior George Chaidemenos was selected as the third alternate in the men's draw.

Both players will open their NCAA Singles runs on Friday, May 22 against an opponent to be determined.
