#15 Amherst fall for the first time in 2025 to #4 Princeton, 9-0

PRINCETON, NJ — The #15 Amherst College women's squash team faced a tough challenge on Tuesday afternoon playing in an away match against the #4 Princeton University Tigers. The Mammoths fell short versus the Tigers, losing 9-0 in the Jadwin Gym. The Tigers remain unbeaten for the season and carry a perfect 5-0 season record. 

Up next: The Mammoths' four-match unbeaten run comes to an end and today's loss constitutes Amherst's third of the season. Their season record now stands at 7-3 (3-0 versus NESCAC opponents). On Friday, Amherst will return to Western Massachusetts and play the first of two consecutive home matches. The Mammoths will play NESCAC rivals, the #12 Tufts University Jumbos, on the Davenport Squash Courts on Friday at 4pm. The Jumbos currently hold a 2-5 record. 

GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Senior Tanmai Pathak and sophomore Yana Sharma both won the second set of their respective matches at the #1 and #7 spots but lost in four sets. 
  • First-year Kristen Daniel lost for just the second time this season to Princeton's Katherine Sapinski at the #5 spot.
  • Amherst's next six matches will be against NESCAC opponents.
