#13 Mammoths beat the #16 Panthers, 6-3, in third consecutive NESAC win

MIDDLEBURY, VT — The #13 Amherst College women's squash team continued their strong season with a 6-3 victory over #16 Middlebury College on Saturday at the Bostwick Family Squash Courts. The Mammoths delivered an impressive performance on the road and won two of their six matches in straight sets to secure their sixth NESCAC win of the season.

Up Next: With this victory, Amherst improves to 10-4 overall and 6-1 in NESCAC play. Tomorrow, Amherst will compete on their home Davenport Squash Courts, taking on their NESCAC and Little Three rivals, #20 Wesleyan University Cardinals. The match is set to start at 11am, with Wesleyan arriving in Amherst with an impressive 10-2 season record.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS:

Sophomore Alex Brown carried out an impressive comeback win at the #3 spot. After losing the first sets, Brown remained composed to win the next three.
First-year Clara Dawn also won in five long sets. At the #9 spot, Dawn's impressive stamina was evident when she beat Caroline Didden with a score of 11-3 in the deciding set.
First-years Brigid Brandon and Kristen Daniel's enjoyed comfortable, straight-set wins at the #4 and #5 spots.
