AMHERST, Mass. -- Amherst College senior
Amy Cui has been voted a 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-American.
It is her first CSC Academic All-American honor. Cui is the 47th Mammoth to earn CSC (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-American honors since 1982 and the first women's tennis player since Brittany Berkes accomplished the feat in 2010.
"Amy is one of the most dedicated, loyal, intelligent, gritty tennis players that I have ever coached," Amherst head women's tenniscoach
Jackie Bagwell said, "and one of the most decent people that I have ever met."
Cui is a neuroscience major from East Brunswick, N.J. The senior earned All-NESCAC First Team Singles and Second Team Doubles honors, closing her Amherst career with five total All-NESCAC selections in four years. Serving as the Mammoths' number one singles player for much of her career, the senior produced an 18-8 singles record this season, registering a .690 win percentage and a 21-9 doubles record for a .700 win percentage this 2024-25 season.
The Academic All-America program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. Academic All-District honors are awarded to up to four student-athletes from each team who have at least a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average and need to be in the lineup for 70 percent of the total matches played by the team that includes team scores. From the Academic All-District honorees, 18 student-athletes are selected as Academic All-Americans by the membership of College Sports Communicators, with teams named in 14 sports and at-large teams that cover sports not represented by their own team.
