#10 Amherst Cruises Past #34 Colby to Earn Fifth NESCAC Win, 6–1

Box Score LUDLOW, MA – The #10 Amherst College women's tennis team continued its strong conference run with a commanding 6–1 victory over the #34 Colby College Mules on Saturday afternoon at the Harold-Alfond Athletics and Recreation Center. 

Up Next: With the win, Amherst improves to 9–5 overall and 5–2 in NESCAC play. The Mammoths return to action tomorrow against the #13 Bowdoin College Polar Bears at 12 PM on indoor courts at the Bay Pines Tennis Center.

HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Amherst swept the doubles point with dominant performances on all three courts, including a 6–2 win from sophomore Lily Dounchis and senior Deliala Friedman at the top spot.
  • Senior Amy Cui and sophomores Sophie Diop and Maddie Swire were especially sharp in singles, each cruising to straight-set victories at #2, #3, and #6, respectively.
  • Both Tina She and Greta Stechschulte came back from a set down to win third-set super tiebreaks, giving Amherst four straight third-set wins across their last two matches.
