#12 Amherst Outlasts #15 Babson on Senior Day, 4–3

LUDLOW, MA – The #12 Amherst College women's tennis team capped off Senior Day with a thrilling 4–3 victory over the #15 Babson College Beavers on Saturday afternoon indoors at the Ludlow Tennis Center. In a tightly contested match, the Mammoths battled back to win their final home match of the regular season. Before first serve, Amherst honored seniors Deliala Friedman, Amy Cui, Katie Hart, and Mia Kintiroglou for their tremendous contributions to the program. 

Up Next: With the win, Amherst improves to 11–6 overall and remains 6–3 in NESCAC play. The Mammoths return to NESCAC action tomorrow with an away match against the #56 Connecticut College Camels. The contest will begin at 10 AM on the Camels' outdoor tennis courts in New London, CT (weather permitting).

HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Amherst took the doubles point with wins at #2 and #3, highlighted by a dominant 6–0 win at the third spot from sophomore Greta Stechschulte and senior Mia Kintiroglou.
  • First-year Cody Huang delivered a clutch performance, battling back from a 5–2 third-set deficit to win 7–5 at #6 singles and bring the overall match score even at 3–3.
  • Senior Deliala Friedman clinched the match moments later with a 5–7, 6–4, 6–4 comeback victory at #3 singles to seal the 4–3 win.
